Finally, this research gives some recommendations based on the study survey, such as Online connectivity from the city to the village level is critical for gaining internet knowledge and engaging in E-Governance activities. No one can use the government online portal for personal activities if they do not have access to the internet. In Bangladesh, it is difficult for the government to deliver internet access to rural areas promptly. South Asian Journal of Social Studies and Economics, Volume 18, Issue 1, Page 37-47
DOI: 10.9734/sajsse/2023/v18i1650

Background: Loan default has been shown in existing literature to have a negative impact on banks as it reduces the performance of banks and may lead to total collapse of these institutions. The high rate of default associated with loans in Nigerian banks is indicative of existing poor credit management practices by the banks.

Aim: As such, this study examined the effect of credit management practices on loan default in deposit money banks in Osun State.

Methods: The study employed the survey research design, using a well-structured questionnaire to collect responses of one hundred and twenty (120) officers and managers from two hundred and fifty two (252) officers and managers of sixty (60) bank branches in Osun State. Using descriptive and multiple linear regressions, the collated data was presented using tables, while the research hypothesis was tested at the 5% level of significance.

Findings: The study found that credit management has no significant effect on loan default, with both credit appraisal and credit monitoring exhibiting negative but non-significant effects on loan default, and credit collection policy exhibiting positive and significant effect on loan.

Conclusion: The study concluded that credit management practices have no significant effect on loan default. In other words, loan default experienced in the banks were not influenced by the loan management practices put in place. While the processes were in existence in the banks under investigation, they have not been able to affect the incidences of loan default.

South Asian Journal of Social Studies and Economics, Volume 18, Issue 1, Page 25-29
DOI: 10.9734/sajsse/2023/v18i1648

Honestly speaking, Nigeria is blessed with abundant natural, human and material resources yet her citizens are suffering tremendously especially the youths. This is caused by bad leadership cum lackadaisical attitudes orchestrated by greedy and disgruntled politicians. The conspicuous immediate effect is that the poor are getting poorer while the rich are getting richer on daily basis. It is also obvious that there are problems already on ground in the country ranging from social problems (poverty, unemployment, unequal opportunity, racism, crime, cultism, terrorism, human trafficking, employment discrimination and malnutrition), religious bigotry, economic quagmire, political to environmental problems. These existing problems have done more harm than good especially on the parts of our youths at present. Our youths have resorted to banditry, kidnapping, ritual killings, prostitution, terrorism, child trafficking, yahoo yahoo plus and other innumerable nefarious acts as a result alarming rate of unemployment in the country. This paper unequivocally x-rays the survival strategies for Nigerian youths amidst obstacles in Nigeria. Also, it exposes some of the barriers that could militate against survival strategies. This paper is purely conceptual in nature. The  survival strategies include POS Business, Graphic Designs, Food Community Business, Home Lessons, Writing and Selling of E-Books, Home Cleaning Services, Affiliate Marketing e.t.c. while the barriers include Negative Mindset, Pride(the killer of destiny),paucity of vision and faith, religious fraud. We concluded that Nigerian Youths need to desist from seeking white collar jobs to creating viable jobs for themselves and others via the entrepreneurial activities deliberated on so far. We, therefore, recommend and encourage youths to just positively do what they can with all they have, wherever they are and the sky will be their stepping stones.
